Centillion & Virgin Media celebrate hitting zero landfill targets
20 Apr 2010Centillion Environment & Recycling UK Ltd in Hirwaun has recycled 1000 tonnes of electronic waste for Virgin Media. helping them meet Environment Agency targets for zero landfill under the European WEEE directives.
Helping to celebrate this milestone on April 26th will be Assembly Member Christine Chapman and Cynon Valley MP Ann Clwyd.
Christine Chapman said:

Centillion have recently recruited 2 new Business Development Executives and have created 10 new jobs in Hirwaun in recent weeks to cope with increasing demand.
Hirwaun is in the European Objective 1 region where unemployment is 25% higher than the national average so by embracing the green economy Centillion are responding to customer requirements to responsibly dispose of e - waste in a process that leads to zero waste going to landfill , all recovered material goes back into manufacturing new products.
South Wales based Centillion has a logistics hub in Hirwaun to carry out the collection of Electronic Waste including redundant IT equipment , TV’s , monitors and other associated WEEE materials .They are able to offer assistance regarding Hazardous Waste Producer Registration with the Environment Agency, and ensure they followed best practice in recycling their old equipment.
Centillion has a large IT refurbishment area for the recycling of IT Equipment and is an AATF and Approved Exporter and was well placed to assist. Virgin Media in disposing of their obsolete units.
