HELPING TO DELIVER FINANCE TO WELSH BUSINESSES – a new way of banking.

29 Oct 2012

Axis Leasing has extended its independent financing facilities to the SME market in order to assist businesses in Wales access additional credit.

The well –established Carmarthenshire finance organisation, which currently manages the UKs largest funding programme for the governments Cycle to Work scheme has increased its capacity to lend directly to the commercial sector.

Deb Chick, a director at Axis states ‘we have long been aware of the slow trickle of funding being accessed by the business community from the main high street banks. In order to address this and the very real and urgent needs of local businesses we have decided to extend our operations to deliver asset funding beyond our current client base which tends to be blue chip or public sector bodies’

‘ Banking appears to becoming remote from daily life – mainly based in the larger cities, and mostly across the Severn Bridge. It makes sense to bring banking back to a personal level and help business owners to react to demands on their operations quickly and effectively.’

The directors at Axis have over 50 years of banking experience behind them funding business equipment, plant and machinery and the more specialised end of the technology sector. Only this week at the Institute of Welsh Affairs conference on alternative finance a leading finance expert decreed that Wales needs new smaller banks. Lending locally, understanding the market and dealing directly with business owners is the best way to underwrite and deliver an effective lending model that benefits the end user.
