Business support offices launched

8 Jan 2013

The Welsh Government has launched a £6.5m network of offices to support the growth of small businesses in Wales.

The Business Wales service has been launched with a network of eleven offices across the country. Its creation was one of the recommendations in the administration's Micro Business Report for Wales.

A consortium comprising on Business in Focus, Centre for Business, Antur Teifi, and Menter a Busnes is delivering the new service.

The new centres are in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Brecon, Fforestfach in Swansea, Llanelli, Newport, Newtown, Pembroke Dock, St Asaph, Treforest, and Wrexham.

Business minister Edwina Hart said: "One of the key priorities identified in the Micro Business Report was the need to provide access for micro-businesses to direct and indirect business support from the private, public and third sector that is clear, simple and easily accessible.

"This latest Business Wales service will complement and work in conjunction with the support available through our Business Information Helpline and the Business Wales website."
