RCT Business Club Gala Awards

The RCT Business Club Gala Awards recognise and celebrate all that is best in businesses in the local area.
They are open to businesses of all sizes and sectors within the County Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, judging is now complete and Winners have been selected. Categories and winners, listed alphabetically, can be seen below:
1. Environmental Business of the Year
Sponsored by Groundwork Merthyr & Rhondda Cynon Taff
Open to all companies. This award will be given to the business/organisation who have received or are undergoing accreditation for demonstrating a strong commitment to developing and implementing best practice environmental measures with clear environmental targets and objectives which produce measurable benefits and/or savings.

2. Excellence in Manufacturing
Sponsored by Local Investment Fund South East Wales

Open to all manufacturing companies. This award is specifically designed to recognise excellence and best practice being achieved throughout the manufacturing sector in the county not only in internal operations but also in those processes that involve customers and suppliers.

Sponsored by Rhondda Cynon Taf
Open to all companies. This award will be given to the company that best demonstrates an innovative approach to marketing. Entrants in this award will be asked to identify a specific project and explain the marketing methods used, research undertaken, reasons why methods were chosen plus the results of the project.

4. Independent Retailer of the Year

Open to all independent retail businesses. The Independent Retail Business Award is intended to recognise the efforts of the individual or company who has created a successful and growing retail business, based in Rhondda Cynon Taf that can demonstrate exceptional delivery through rising sales.Winner: Wonder Stuff Limited
5. Innovative Business of the Year
Sponsored by Rhondda Cynon Taf
Open to all companies. Entrants must be able to demonstrate the development within the last 3 years of an innovative product, process or service, or a new way of working. The entry must include a clear written description of the development (Layman's terms as far as possible) and its background, including any details of protection obtained.

6. New Start-up Business of the Year

To enter, a business must be less than three years old by 1 October 2012. The Award will be made to the business that has demonstrated outstanding business planning, innovation and creativity and has achieved exceptional growth or offers the potential for high growth.

7. Service Sector Business of the Year
Sponsored by Rhondda Cynon TafOpen to all professional service businesses. The Service Sector Business Award recognises the contributions of the professional service sector and rewards those who are committed to offering the highest levels of service to each and every customer. Applications are welcomed from all professional service organisations including accountants, architects, engineers, law firms, public relations professionals and recruitment consultants.

8. RCT Business Club Business of the Year
Sponsored by Finance WalesThis Award is open to Winners of Categories 1 to 7 and will be made to the business or individual that, in the opinion of the judges, merits particular recognition for their achievements or for their exceptional potential.
